Float switches for sump pumps & water tanks
A float switch is an electric level control sensor for submersible pumps, sump pump chambers, water tanks and rainwater harvesting tanks to detect low- and high-level switching points.
Float Switch to empty and to fill a tank
Float switches are available in versions to empty a pump chamber (function: emptying) or to fill a water or rainwater harvesting tank (function: filling). Some float switches are also available with crossover-contacts which enable both emptying and filling functions (duplex function).
High Level Alarm
A float switch with emptying function can also be used as a high level alarm in a sump chamber, wastewater treatment system and septic tank.
Low Level Alarm
A low level alarm within a water tank, intermediary buffer tank or rainwater harvesting tank can be used to activate an alarm or to trigger a secondary backup for automatic uninterrupted water supply. This principle is used at rainwater harvesting installations to provide automatic switch-over to mains-water or well-water supply in case the primary supply of rainwater is depleted.
SAFETY NOTICE: due to submerged operation, a float switch with earth conductor (PE) is recommended at any installation with up to 250V. All float switches supplied by GEMGATE Limited are equipped with an earth conductor!
