Rainwater Pump Accessories

Accessories for rainwater pumps include floating suction filters and automatic pump controllers which operate rainwater harvesting pumps at direct-pressurised installations.

Floating Suction Filters / Floating Pump Intake Filters

Floating pump intake filters are available with a fine mesh-size of 0.3mm (300 micron) or with a standard coarse mesh-size of 1.2mm (1200 micron). Floating suction filters for submersible pumps do not have an integrated non-return valve, while those models for dry-standing suction pumps are equipped with a non-return valve in order to maintain a continuous suction column within the suction hose.

It is recommended to use pump intake filters in pre-filtered water. High levels of pollution within the rainwater tank should be avoided, also with a view to the use of rainwater at the facility.
Furthermore, the rainwater tank should be cleared from any dirt or foreign objects which accumulated within the tank chamber during installation.

Rainwater Pump Controllers

A rainwater harvesting pump controller is an automatic pressure-switch for direct-pressurised water supply. Installed on the pressurised pipe coming from the rainwater harvesting pump, rainwater flows through the pump controller which switches the pump on & off.
Dry-run protection for the pump is included with all models and may require a manual reset, if activated.
Some models also have additional programmable safety features (activated if required) such as the maximum number of pump cycles per hour & pump cycle duration which serve as system protection and leak-detection.
