Function of the WISY coarse floating suction filter

The WISY coarse floating suction filter with 1 metre hose in natural-rubber is connected to the intake connection of the submersible pump within the rainwater tank.

The floating intake filter allows the pump, sitting at the bottom of the rainwater storage tank, to draw water from the middle part of the water column below the water surface. This is where the cleaniest water within the rainwater tank is located.
Neither sediment on the base of the tank nor floating debirs on the water surface such as pollen particles are introduced into the rainwater supply network.

Quality Components

The coarse filter-mesh in stainless-steel with the standard sized mesh of 1.2mm additionally prevents particles from being drawn in by the submersible rainwater pump.

The 1 metre hose is manufacured in natural-rubber. This benefits pump operation as the high-quality natural-rubber material maintains the full hose diamater while the pump is taking in water.  Cavitation issues related to aging standard spiral-reinforced hoses are eliminated for reliable and efficient pump cycles.

The natural-rubber hose also ensures a long service-life and does not require renewal over the lifespan of a rainwater harvesting system.

Due to the weight of the natural-rubber hose it is recommended to secure the pump in a vertical position within the tank with a rope or chain.

The floating ball with a diameter of 15cm of the WISY coarse floating suction filter is made of ecologically harmless polyethylene.
