The rainwater harvesting control panel OMNI Pluvia Eco P - 230V including motor-protection for 1x rainwater pump with an electric consumption of 6.3A to 10.0A enables automatic rainwater supply and allows monitoring of the rainwater harvesting system.
Direct Pressurised Rainwater Supply System
The panel can be used for rainwater harvesting systems where the supply from the submersible or dry-standing centrifugal pressure pump is piped directly to the various points of use.
In this setup a pressure switch on the pressurised rainwater pipe network is wired to the rainwater control panel contact (marked "Operation") which determines pump operation.
Usually, a suitably-sized membrane accumulator pressure vessel is included in the hydraulic plumbing installation in order to reduce pump switching cycles.
A direct pressurised rainwater harvesting supply system requires the mains water top-up to feed the underground rainwater storage tank during prolonged spells of low precipitation.
Therefore, when installed at a direct pressurised rainwater harvesting supply system, the yellow LED 2 (marked " Tank Empty") signals a rainwater supply disruption as the rainwater pump has been deactivated due to dry run protection.
Indirect Gravity Rainwater Harvesting System
The rainwater harvesting control panel can also be installed at rainwater harvesting systems with indirect gravity feed. Here, rainwater is pumped from the underground rainwater tank to an intermediary or header tank located at the top (attic area) of the building, from where it is gravity fed to the various points of use.
Automatic pump operation is ensured by connecting a float switch (located in header tank) to the rainwater control panel. Installation of a pressure switch is also possible, as long as the rainwater input valve at the header tank remains either fully opened (pump on) or fully closed (pump off) to prevent unnecessary or prolonged pump-switching cycles.
A membrane pressure vessel of min. 50 litres should be included with either option.
At an indirect gravity rainwater supply system mains water top-up is installed at the intermediary header tank. Therefore, during prolonged dry periods the yellow LED 2 (marked " Tank Empty") in this case signals the rainwater harvesting system is being supplied by mains water backup due to the low level inside the underground rainwater tank. This does not constitute a supply disruption at the rainwater harvesting system.
Alarm & Status Output to BMS
Should motor-protection be activated, the potential-free alarm output to the building management system (BMS) is closed, prompting an external alarm display in addition to the red LED 3 on the panel.
Alternatively, the alarm output could also be used to activate an external alarm-light/buzzer/siren (max. 230V/4.0A).
The potential-free general fault alarm also allows to monitor the status output "System OK" via the building management system.
